Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic appliances may be removable or they may be bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, your teeth are slowly moved to the proper position. In addition to moving teeth appliances like palatal expanders can actually alter the size, shape and growth potential of the jaw bones. Treatment length, especially in growing children and adolescents, is dependent on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your condition is. Receiving early treatment, sometimes referred to as Interceptive Treatment or Phase One, can also help ensure a quicker treatment time later on in life. Another big factor in a successful treatment is cooperation. The more involved and diligent a patient is, the quicker and more efficient the treatment will be.
